Xavier students have always produced strong, well-researched and well-written papers, but all too often they’ve gone unnoticed by those outside the faculty because there simply wasn’t a place to publish them. That has now changed with the creation of the Xavier Journal of Politics, the University’s first student journal. The online publication is designed to provide students with the opportunity to produce and share high-quality research that makes a substantial contribution to the field of political science. The first issue produced nine articles on topics ranging from “Elite Opinion and the Supreme Court” and “Civic Standstill in the Pearl of Africa” to “Why are There so Few Conservatives in Academia? Testing the Self-Selection Hypothesis.” The full articles can be read here.
