Skype Hype

The Career Services Center, which provides the advice and resources necessary for students to land internships and jobs, is keeping pace with 21st century technology by setting up job interviews between students and businesses using Skype, the Internet-based video telephone service. The interviews, which are done remotely via computers, lack the personal, face-to-face interaction, which is a drawback. But they save businesses travel time and expenses for the initial, introductory interviews. They also require slightly different skills on the student’s part, but that training is also offered by the Center.
