The offices of the national alumni association, parent relations and admission are becoming PARTners. The three offices recently created the parent and alumni recruitment team (PART), through which they hope to raise the University’s recruitment efforts to a more concentrated, personalized level.

“Satisfied parents are our best advertisement,” says Dianne Fisk, director for parent and constituent relations.

The team is combining the forces of the former coordinated alumni recruitment effort (CARE) with the admissions committee of the parents advisory council. PART director Lisa Wendel Burns says the goal is to have volunteers in every region of the country who will represent Xavier at college fairs, deliver materials to high schools, place phone calls to parents of prospective students, host freshman send-off parties and participate in other admission events. Burns says alumni are highly effective recruiters, citing stories in which alumni have transformed prospective students into incoming freshmen simply by sharing their Xavier experiences.
