The University is in the beginning stages of a yearlong search for a new dean for the Williams College of Business.
The college is the most publicly prominent of the University’s three colleges, and the new dean will need to be as equally prominent, says Academic Vice President Roger Fortin. The college has always had close ties to the local business community, and an even greater emphasis is being placed on that role.
The new dean will also be, in many ways, a mirror of the business world, Fortin says, in that he or she must possess an entrepreneurial mind-set in order to create new avenues and ways of building up the college. When the next capital campaign begins, the new dean will be an integral part of that work as well.
