For one horrifying weekend this summer, sophomore Mary Kate Rosfelder’s life was one scary scene after another. She studied movie directing at a horror film camp, helping shoot part of the short film “Gloom” in which a killer stalks a school janitor. With camera in hand, she zoomed in on the killer as he examined a suitcase full of knives. “We shot up at him to make him more ominous,” she says. “It was nice to be able to put my own touch on it.” The ending has the killer stalking the janitor into the basement, only to discover the janitor is a vampire. Rosfelder’s goal is to enter the film industry, but as a business major, she’s more interested in working on the financial side.
