Greek Week 1977

“Once again the crazy people come out of their rooms and find out what college is not all about,” reads the 1977 Greek Week program. For the sixth year, student teams competed in a road rally, White Castle-eating contest, vertical egg toss, scavenger hunt, arm-wrestling tournament and body painting for prizes and, more important, bragging rights. Pictured here is the torch-lighting ceremony, which was followed by a tricycle race around the academic mall. Riders had to stay seated at all times, complete 10 laps using bikes with wheels less than 20 inches in diameter—and have fun.
