One of Xavier’s newest employees is doing double duty as both a psychology professor and as a director at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Cathy McDaniels Wilson accepted the joint appointment because of the unique challenge it offers her to create something that’s never been done before. Wilson will split her time between teaching and overseeing two programs at the center. As its director of dialogue, she is developing two forums where visitors can reflect and discuss their reactions to the exhibits. She also will direct Xavier psychology doctoral students in developing and moderating the dialogue sessions. “This is a wonderful way for developing professionals to go beyond what is presented to them and immerse themselves in something different,” she says.
