The Rev. Gary Agee, pastor of the Hopewell First Church of God in West Chester, Ohio, and 1996 graduate of the master’s program in theology, is taking a spiritual look at the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Agee compiled a book of messages given by Church of God ministers around the country after the terrorist attacks.

“All of the messages dealt with September 11 but can be applied to personal tragedy,” says Agee, who also served as an adjunct professor at the University for five years. Agee broke the messages down into 37 insights, such as forgiveness, anger, prayer, just war, mourning, bitterness, revenge and retaliation.

The Sunday After: Living With Tragedy This Side of America’s Worst Day was released in August and is available in Cincinnati-area bookstores, the University bookstore, at and in nondenominational Church of God churches nationally.
