Students are getting an early view of what the new Learning Commons is going to be like. The University Library is reorganizing its first floor to become a prototype of how the new facility will look and work, with its combination of high-tech learning spaces and old-fashioned book-based rooms.
The Learning Commons is part of the James E. Hoff, S.J., Academic Quad and is one of the key components in the To See Great Wonders capital campaign. When completed, the Commons will be attached to the back of the library—which will also be completely updated and renovated. The high-tech, highly social center for learning outside the classroom will provide students with the facilities, technologies and services to best prepare them for lives of distinction and service.
